NEW MUSIC - Lil Wayne

Zandl Group Panel fave Lil Wayne topped the billboard charts (and the Hot Sheet Year End Favorite Artist category) last year with Tha Carter III - a remarkable feat considering the majority of panelists claim rock as their favorite music genre. His cross-over appeal can be attributed to his over 100 collaborations as a guest on tracks by artists across many genres, from Britney Spears to Jay Z. So it only makes sense that his next album is going to be a rock album. His interview in the current Rolling Stone explains why:“The rock shit just comes from what my life is now,” Wayne, 26, says. “I’ve grown into this person.”..... Describing a wild night when he woke up in bed with three or four women he couldn’t name, Wayne reveals he had an epiphany. “I just got — I’m not going to say ’so good’ at what I was doing, but it became such a regularity for me that I got tired of it. And then I said, ‘You know what? I’m not going to rap on this one.’ “
We can't wait to hear what he comes up with - it's a brave and bold move for someone at the top of his hip hop game.
