LIVE MUSIC - Wild Yaks, Lady Magma, Pass Kontrol @ Lit Lounge 2/28/09
I checked out some Bushwick rock bands at Lit Lounge in NYC on Saturday night. I was too late to catch The Nasties (heard they were fab!), but I made it in time for the last three acts. 
Lady Magma played a powerhouse set (including some amazing DIY sets!). Fave songs include: Bangcock, Chelsea, and loved their new seafaring/whiskey song that featured a solo by guitarist Brian.
The Wild Yaks made a big impression. They've been getting quite a lot of traction lately and their live show was really high-energy. The crowd was smashed in to the basement stage space and the dancing was pretty nuts and very sweaty. I'll be on the lookout for future shows for sure.
Pass Kontrol (incidentally, my favorite band) rounded out the evening. The crowd was already wild and things got even crazier when they started playing. There was a technical difficulty with Oliver's guitar amp, so Brian hooked up Lady Magma's amp and by the time PK got around to playing fan-fave "F the Train," it was a certified mosh situation.
