TECH - Google eyes in on energy conservation
Google announced Google PowerMeter, a new app which tracks and monitors people's power meters through the nations circuit of 40 million smart meters. Once the app is fully functioning, people will be able to track their personal energy usage in 'almost' real-time.
Should Google strike government and corporate partnerships to develop further spinoff apps and resources, this newly accessible information could completely alter the way people use and understand energy. Google said this detailed information could 'help households reduce consumption by as much as 15 percent.' Go go Google!
