EATS - Gum-flavored donuts!

We tried out the new bubblegum flavored donuts by Entenmann's. While these donut holes are a little less than enticing in appearance (and concept), the sweet bubblegum glaze adds a pleasantly delicious surprise to the palate. Probably not for everyone though...

PET FUN - Gravy for Pets?

Iams is now offering a variety of sauces for dog food... A very special treat for spoiled dogs. Supposedly, it's a great way to lure dogs over to their boring dry food and away from the dinner table. Flavors include "Sizzlin' Bacon", "Country Style Chicken" and "Roasted Beef".

PLACES - We Heart Medic-Chic

We're salivating over The Clinic, a restaurant/bar/nightclub complex in Singapore. Get cozy at the dinner table in a gold wheelchair while dinner is served from a rolling steel table. Enjoy inventive cocktails through a hospital drip. Admire the original artwork of Damien Hirst. The entrance to the club mirrors that of a hospital emergency room, complete with a red cross on the floor. Behind the mortuary doors in the "morgue reception area" lies the restaurant... The floorplan to the complex resembles a labyrinth of pills. Pink padded rooms... Honestly, do you need another reason to go to Singapore?

The Clinic is a unique concept that defies definition. It combines controversy and art, entertainment and molecular gastronomy to become a modern day supper club that will provide an experience unlike anything you know. [The Clinic]

SPACE FUN - Supernova in the sky...

Star explosion in space rocks science world...

Y'all might have brushed over this in the headlines today...But it's pretty remarkable. The brightest and possibly largest and most violent explosion of a star ever observed. The star was roughly 150 times larger than the sun. Imagine the sun exploding. Now, imagine that times 150. Good thing it was 238 million light years away.

IN OTHER NEWS - Just in time for Spiderman 3

A very special (and by special i mean disturbing) story for anyone who's ever had an unexplained earache:

Doctor finds spiders in ear of boy with earache

ALBANY, Oregon (AP) -- These guys were not exactly Snap, Crackle and Pop.

What began as a faint popping in a 9-year-old boy's ear -- "like Rice Krispies" -- ended up as an earache, and the doctor's diagnosis was that a pair of spiders made a home in the ear.

"They were walking on my eardrums," Jesse Courtney said.

One of the spiders was still alive after the doctor flushed the fourth-grader's left ear canal. His mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear -- "like Rice Krispies."

Dr. David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.

When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.

Jesse was given the spiders -- now both dead -- as a souvenir. He has taken them to school and his mother has taken them to work.

FOOD - Bubble Yum Soda

So we haven't actually tasted Bubble Yum soda yet, but we certainly are intrigued. As far as we can tell it's been out for a year or so. Reportedly, the sugary gum flavored soda was released in conjunction with a variety of Jolly Rancher brand soft drinks. We're still on the look out. Extra sweet goodness...

BevNet Review:
Yes, Bubble Yum soda does, in fact, taste like bubblegum. That's quite possibly the first time we've made this statement without it being meant as a criticism. Fortunately, however, Bubble Yum doesn't possess the same bubblegum flavor found in poorly formulated products. Instead, it's true to its name, featuring a flavor that made us immediately crave bubblegum.
